Vision

As men, we often wonder what God's purpose is for our lives. We desire for him to tell us, but he often seems a bit quiet on this topic.

We are aware that regular Bible reading could give us better direction, but we often have a hard time engaging with Scripture in a consistent manner.

One of my favorite Bible passages is Ecclesiastes 4:9-10:

"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble."

The point of the passage is that we need to help and encourage each other, even in our Bible reading.

So, in this spirit, the goal of this men's group is fairly simple. It's designed to get us engaged in Scripture together. You don't have to contribute to this site if you don't want to, but I hope it can serve to inspire and motivate you towards spiritual growth this year.

And here is how we will do that. Each man in our group commits to reading one chapter of the New Testament each weekday.

Saturdays and Sundays can be used for the following:

It's noteworthy that under this reading plan, the New Testament can be completed in exactly 52 weeks. But we probably don't want to read the New Testament directly from Matthew to Revelation as we would spend nearly the first half of our reading in the Gospel story.

Hence, I've organized our reading plan in a way to intersperse the Gospels throughout the year. This system gives us flexibility and structure to stay on track.

Below is a Google sheet providing our reading schedule for this year.
